I have been an attorney since 1984 (37 years). I hold a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles. In my career, I have been very fortunate to have held positions as a Deputy District Attorney for Kern County (Bakersfield) and Deputy Attorney General III for the State of California Department of Justice (Los Angeles). I am admitted to practice law in all courts in California, the federal courts and before the United States Supreme Court. I also have extensive experience as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and family law practitioner. Overall, I have completed more than 130 criminal jury trials in the California Courts about evenly divided between prosecution and defense. I have handled thousands of cases, including misdemeanor and felony cases as well as a variety of civil, family law and immigration cases. I have argued cases before the California Court of Appeal; one case resulted in a published opinion, to wit: Fahmy v. Medical Board of California (1995) 38 Cal.App.4th 810.
In addition to my law career, I have been an educator for many years – teaching from preschool to the university level, including undergraduate and graduate and law school.
